Loyal Orange Lodge (L.O.L.) #2123

Hamilton, Ontario

Welcome to L.O.L. #2123

Welcome to the website of Loyal Orange Lodge (L.O.L.) #2123 located in the great steel city of Hamilton, Ontario.

The lodge currently boasts around 40 members, and is the last surviving orange lodge in the city. We are very excited about the upcoming year as the period 2009-2010 will mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the lodge, and more details about that can be found within the site on the Centenary page. We don't always agree with one another, but at the end of the day we are all brothers united in a common goal, so please come in, look around and leave us your thoughts.

If you live in the larger Hamilton-Burlington area, and are interested in joining the lodge, please feel free to complete the online application form which can be found HERE

No Surrender

RIP - The TRUE Heroes

In the past few weeks the world has lost two true heroes.

Firstly we lost Mr. Henry Allingham, 113, and latterly we have seen the passing  of Mr. Harry Patch, 111. Both of these gentlemen fought in the 'war to end all wars', and they fought for many of the freedoms we hold dear today. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid, and in a world where the word 'hero' is bandied about without due cause, these fellows were the real deal, and were heroes in every since of the world.

Thank you Henry, Harry, and all the others who fought for our freedoms, and continue to do so.

God bless you

Many heroes fall during battle
this fight for freedom often costs
these men and women we send to foreign shores
often it these lives that are lost

but they will not be forgotten
we honor those sou
ls that slip away
and know that they've become angels
In heaven, on this day

The memory of them lives on
as we sleep we see their face
the dreams seem so very real
we often imagine their warm embrace

God has given them free reign
to whisper gently to the trees
to glide effortlessly among the clouds
and dry your tears with a breeze

So as long as we are alive
we will hold them in our hearts
and as long as we can breathe
our heroes will never be apart

So as we bury you with honor
we will grieve, then heal & pray
and even though we'll miss you you
we'll be reunited in heaven one day

Short Thought

This we put in memory, that the posterities to come may know that God once made his truth to triumph; but because that some of ourselves delighted more in darkness than in light, God hath restrained our freedom, and put the whole body in bondage.... and therefore, yet again say I, that the people ought to execute God's law even against their princes, when that their open crimes by God's law deserve death, but especially when they are such as may infect the rest of the multitude
